Absolutely fabulous service and results – wish I’d found you years ago – can’t praise you enough – Thank you! 🙂 – Nicki W

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal disorder in women of reproductive age characterized by irregular periods, excess androgen (male hormones), and polycystic ovaries. It often emerges around puberty and can cause a range of symptoms, including, among others, excess male pattern hair growth and acne. These are both symptoms that Health Counts can help dramatically with, for many people giving long periods of time with no hair growth or acne at all.

How Health Counts Ipswich can help

Our laser treatments can truly help manage and control these unwanted problems. Some patients may qualify for their treatment with us via the NHS as opposed to self-funding and we do have a few such people. We would always advise you discussing your own case with your GP and asking if funding might be made available as very visible (facial) hirsutism would fall within the disorder of Gender Dysphoria as well as causing considerable emotional distress. Health Counts is registered with the CQC (Care Quality Commission) to carry out treatments for DDI (Disease, Disorder and Injury) This means that we are a clinical establishment, not a salon and this is one of the reasons the NHS chose us as their supplier. We are one of only 5 NHS supplier clinics in East Anglia. It is worth asking your GP if you can be referred for treatment as your PCOS hirsutism is causing you issues with gender dysphoria.

PCOS Skin & Hair Solutions: Laser Expertise Since 2004

Health Counts has treated 1,000s of people with PCOS who suffering from the resultant unwanted facial hair (and in other areas) since we began laser hair removal in 2004.  We have 4 lasers for hair removal so we can treat every skin colour. Our knowledge and experience is second to none – some of our staff have PCOS themselves so they know first hand how devastating it can be.

We bought our first pulsed dye laser for acne treatment in 2009 and are the only clinic in East Anglia with such equipment.  Again, this is a fabulous tool for helping quell breakouts and clear the skin as well as helping to remove scarring and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Even one treatment can make a noticeable difference and in conjunction with our hair removal lasers, we can truly turn around your PCOS issues. A free consultation means we can assess your particular case, explain how it all works and give you pricing (laser hair removal starts at £55 and acne laser treatments start at £75)

Test patches and test treatments are available on both these lasers (from £20)
